Houston Texans’ Tidbits:

Duane Brown:  Brown is set to make his return back to the football field for the first time since Jan 3., the date he tore his quadriceps muscle in the club’s final game of the season.  Although he was limited in this week’s practice, he is expected to play which will be an incredible boost to the team’s offensive line.  Entering into his ninth season, Brown, 31, is the Texans’ most-tenured player.

Kareem Jackson:  Jackson injured his right hamstring in the second-half of last week’s match-up of the Tennessee Titans causing him to not return to the game.  It’s also notable to mention that KJax got burnt badly by Titans’ receiver Rishard Matthews for a 60-yard catch earlier in the game last week.  He also told the Chron’s Aaron Wilson that his injury was a “tweak” and it won’t prevent him being available this Sunday to play.  Just like Brown, he too is expected to be available.

And here’s the injury report for the Minnesota Vikings:

LB Anthony Barr, Wrist

G Alex Boone, Knee

WR Stefon Diggs, Groin

TE Rhett Ellison, Knee

DT Sharif Floyd, Knee

TE David Morgan, Knee

TE Kyle Rudolph, Clavicle/Rib

CB Xavier Rhodes, Knee

T Jeremiah Sirles, Ankle

T Andre Smith, Triceps

Floyd, Morgan, and Smith have already been ruled OUT for Sunday.  Diggs and Ellison are listed as DOUBTFUL.  Barr, Boone, Rhodes, Rudolph and Sirles are PROBABLE.

Minnesota Vikings Tidbits:

Andre Smith:  On just the sixth snap of the game, the veteran tackle injured his triceps muscle this past Monday against the New York Giants.  With a short week facing the Texans, the Vikings will be holding him out as a result.  He also hasn’t practiced all week.  The extremely versatile Jeremiah Sirles will fill-in for him on the right side of the line.

Stefon Diggs:  Diggs has been suffering from a groin injury over the past two weeks.  After having astronomical performances in his first two weeks of play, his production has waned as his injury is starting to nag.  He didn’t practice this week and has been ruled as doubtful.  Adam Thielen is next in line to replace him and has appeared in all four of the team’s games so far.  Diggs has been targeted 33 times this season, making him Sam Bradford’s go-to guy.  He has caught 25 balls for 372 yards (14.9 yards per catch) so far.

Shariff Floyd:  The four-year defensive lineman underwent a surgical procedure on both of his knees last month and has only appeared in the first-week match up.  He hasn’t practiced since.

The Texans hit the road to take on the Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Kickoff is scheduled for noon CDT.

The game will be televised on CBS and broadcast on 610 SportsRadio AM/100.3 FM (KILT) & ESPN Deportes 1180 (KGOL) in Spanish.

Go Texans.
