Houston Texans Undrafted Free Agents With A Chance

The Houston Texans signed a number of undrafted free agents following the 2016 NFL Draft.

We’ll highlight the players that have the best chances of making the team but here is the full list:

Signings:

DE/OLB – Eric Lee – South Florida
LB – Shakeel Rashad – UNC
LB – Jalen Jefferson – California
CB – Cleveland Wallace – San Jose State
CB – Richard Leonard – Florida International

K – Ka’imi Fairbairn – UCLA

At first glance there are a few guys that will have a solid shot at practice squad but virtually no shot at making the 53 man roster.   Some players of note that would be nice on the practice squad:

WR Wendall Williams runs a 4.19 40 and no, that is not a typo.  He also has a 45 inch vertical.  Unbelievable athlete but from NAIA school Cumberland obviously would be a long term project.

QB Chuckie Keeton, if he makes past the tryout. figures to be a player that can take the throwing reps in rookie camp and could be a practice squad candidate and a longer term project.

Fullback Soma Vainuku will complete with FB Jay Prosch in camp, but Vainuku had a draftable grade and should at least compete for a practice squad spot.

These guys have some potential, but likely not enough to come close to the 53 man roster. Which guys do?
