4th Round – Pick #119

C.J. Prosise – RB – Notre Dame

6’0” – 220

In the 4th round we look for the Texans to start addressing some of the secondary needs that we listed out previously.  They could go with running back, tight end, offensive line or safety at this point.  With the tight ends in this range likely off the board, I believe they want to add some depth to the running back position with a dynamic player.  If C.J. Prosise is still on the board he will be hard for them to pass up.

Yes, the Texans signed running back Lamar Miller, but you cannot have enough good running backs and the Texans again have talked about and displayed with the players they’ve brought in for a look at players that add something dynamic to the offense.

Prosise, a former wide receiver, is still developing as a running back but has a tremendous skill set.  He ran a 4.48 – 40 with a 35” vertical and a 10’ long jump at the combine.  As a former wide receiver he shows excellent hands out of the backfield and could spell Miller particularly on 3rd downs as rookie.

Alternate options:

RB Tyler Ervin (San Jose State), C Evan Boehm (Missouri), S Miles Killebrew (Southern Utah)
