As this season as progressed, it has become more evident that the Dwight Howard-era is, and rightfully should be, over. By no means is this an attack on Dwight himself, rather a much needed concession in the first step to recovery. I mean, you can’t fix a problem until you admit there is one.

The Rockets as a whole are the problem.

From owner Les Alexander’s fetish for the big names and GM Daryl Morey’s quest for perfect efficiency all the way down to the players just not turning up to some games, this organization as a whole is a broken one.

There are so many issues with this Rockets team that it has just become frustrating to watch, be it their five-minute turnover-laden barren offensive stretches or their abysmal defending, it has gotten to the point where mid-season tinkering isn’t going to save them.

More from House of Houston

It all has to come back to the front office at some point, and their squad building leaves a lot to be desired. Last season, it seemed like we had a good squad, but just not enough to deal with Golden State’s firepower. Well, one saying comes to mind that has rung true this season, that is: “winning makes everything better.”

No one will be safe in the off season (bar James Harden, Morey’s Efficiency Wonder Child) and quite rightly so.
