3. Get The Rookies Into The Rotation

Let’s be honest, at this point, the Rockets are no longer competing for a championship this season as they had set out to do and that’s okay. This year will later be known as part of the Golden State Warriors dynasty so it’s okay to not be winners this year, but what is important is looking forward to future seasons.

  • KJ McDaniels was a stud at Philadelphia and to the outrage of many Rockets fans, and yours truly, he has failed to even crack into the rotation in his time so far. For the rest of the season it is important to blood the youngsters and give players like Sam Dekker, McDaniels and Harrell a chance to earn their stripes before the season is up.

Look at how Capela has blossomed after breaking into the rotation and he is now one of Houston’s brightest prospects. Without D-Mo this should open up room for Harrell and hopefully they can reduce Harden and Brewers minutes and give them a rest while McDaniels and Dekker try to earn themselves a spot.

I’m not sure many Rockets fans envisioned our beloved D-Mo being traded at the start of the day, but with his spot now open it provides a chance for other players to prove themselves in his role. Maybe this will be enough to spark the Rockets change into the team that they once were.
