Houston Texans’ Tidbits:
Jadeveon Clowney: Clowney’s foot is still ailing them but it appears that the training staff is doing everything they can to get him ready for Saturday. There is still the possibility he may not play as he has been walking with a slight limp all week. He did return to practice Thursday but did not participate in the walk-through scheduled for Friday. Bill O’Brien was vague about his participation in practice Thursday indicating that he “moved around a little bit.” If Clowney can’t go, expect Mercilus, who recently won the AFC Defensive Player of the Month honors, to step in his place stoutly.

And here’s the injury report for the Kansas City Chiefs:
S Husain Abdullah, Concussion/NFR
OL Jeff Allen, Ankle
WR Chris Conley, Thumb
LB Dee Ford, Concussion/Wrist
LB Tamba Hali, Thumb/Knee
LB Justin Houston, Knee
TE Travis Kelce, Groin
WR Jeremy Maclin, Hip
C Mitch Morse, Concussion
T Jah Reid, Knee
RB Spencer Ware, Rib
Morse has been ruled OUT for Sunday. Abdullah, Ford and Hali are listed as QUESTIONABLE. Allen, Conley, Houston, Kelce, Maclin, Reid and Ware are PROBABLE.
Kansas City Chiefs’ Tidbits:
Mitch Morse: Morse was mowed down late in their season finale against the Oakland Raiders causing him to be taken out of the game. He certainly had the symptoms of a concussion and is currently being evaluated for that, now going through the NFL’s protocol for concussions. The rookie center hasn’t practiced all week and the outlook of him being able to play had already looked grim. Zach Fulton will get the start at center Saturday.
Tamba Hali: Hali did participate in practice Friday albeit limited. He did play last week and it’s likely he’ll play through the injury this week as it’s the playoffs and there’s no tomorrow. This may help the Texans a bit because he is quite mighty on the pass rush and could definitely give Brian Hoyer some problems. But if he’s not full strength, that will bode well for the Texans — hopefully. Dee Ford is his backup and he’s also going to be a game-time decision as well as he’s suffering from a concussion. He has resumed practicing in full so it remains to be seen if he’s able to move through the concussion protocol. Since both Hali and Ford complement each other, it will be interesting to see who steps in their place if both can’t give it a go. I see that highly unlikely though.
Husain Abdullah: He too is going through the NFL’s concussion protocol but was cleared to practice in full Thursday. His status remains uncertain. He’s another complement to their pass rush with Houston as well.
