Dysfunction.
You thought that week five loss by the Texans was caused dysfunction? Try sitting through a week of Houston Rockets basketball this year.
Only the Rockets could get a coach fired after taking them to the Western Conference Finals just a few months earlier.
Only the Rockets could defeat the Spurs and then find a way to lose the the Pelicans the following game.
Only the Rockets could blow 20+pt leads in multiple games.
Only the Rockets could find a way to be 0-5 against the Denver Nuggets and Brooklyn Nets.
Seriously, somehow this team could look so good for a solid 6-12 minute stretch of basketball and then look disastrous over the next quarter.
This team has been frustrating all season long and I’m not sure it will end. Just when it looks like things are turning the corner they go out and lose a game they had no business in losing. They go out and blow a large lead and then come up with too little too late.
I’m not sure what the answer is at this point. They’ll likely make the playoffs, but things will need to change to turn them into a contender.
The good news is that the season is 48,000 games long so the Rockets only need to start peaking in April.
