2015 was actually an amazing year for Houston sports. This is the first time since 1980 that all three major sports teams made the playoffs in one season.
With that said, this list will probably be slightly better than 2013’s and 2014’s list. But enough about reliving the past year’s disasters. 2015 was much different for us Houston sports fans.
We all expected the Rockets to go far, and that they did, advancing all the way to the Western Conference Finals. But the other two teams…the Astros and Texans?!?
From the Astros I expected a season around the .500 mark. Maybe a few games over or maybe a few games under, but nothing like what we saw from the ’15 Astros. A WC playoff win at Yankee Stadium?!? Hell yea!

Speaking of misery, just because all three teams made the playoffs, doesn’t mean there weren’t any hardships involved.
We saw a celebrity entering a star’s life and a face of the franchise leave the city. There was also one game, or a plethora of games, that simply just ripped the heart out of our chest. Now that’s the Houston I know and love.
After 23 years of being a Houston sports fan, I’ve learned that things can always get worse. I’ve also learned that I’ll likely live a few years less than the rest of my non-Houston sports fan friends.
And here’s why…
