If dealing with another year of losing wasn’t enough, now the city of Houston hears all of the rumblings about the dysfunctional relationship between GM Rick Smith and head coach Bill O’Brien.
The performance, the rumors, and the disapproval of owner Bob McNair would lead you to believe that change is on the way.
However, nothing has been done about the reported power struggle going on within the Texans organizational structure as of now. Maybe it will happen during the bye week. Maybe after the season. Maybe nothing will ever happen, and fans will continue to be fed cliche after cliche about hard work, accountability, or team-first mentality.
If the choice is between keeping one or the other, fans and the media are all on the same page that Smith needs to go.
