Texans: Will Jadeveon Clowney Be Active For Week 6?
The Houston Texans torrential Week 5 is over which was just as bad as Week 4.
When I didn’t think my team would be able to top the 48-21 debacle that occurred on the road against the Atlanta Falcons, they were able to reach new heights against the Indianapolis Colts.
The crazy thing was that they were in it most of the game and they let the aging vet in Matt Hasselbeck beat our team almost single-handed.

Terrible.
Hasselbeck had been suffering an illness earlier last week and was barely able to talk just a day before the game; but when his number was called, he lit the Texans up for 213 yards with two touchdowns and 107.4 quarterback rating to boot.
So who says you can’t be an effective quarterback at 40-years-old?
He looked a lot better than both of the quarterbacks we have under center which is quite a sad sight for this team.
Then we witnessed Ryan Mallett take himself out of the game eventually opening the door for Brian Hoyer to take over the reins as a starter once again.
I feel that barring any injury to Hoyer, I feel that he’ll be the presumptive starter moving forward.
Not that it matters or anything because I honestly feel that this season is over and the Texans must play a little CYA to at least make this season respectable.
But they’ve surprised me last season — stringing a few key wins together to finish 9-7, barely short of a playoff berth.
But anyway, there’s some interesting news that has surfaced on the injury front.
Linebacker Jadeveon Clowney is hobbling once again.
He supposedly sustained an injury against the Colts last week and has been in walking boot on his right foot as his ankle is sprained.
According to the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson, he changed from the boot to a brace at the start of practice yesterday in order to participate.
Bill O’Brien does expect Clowney to play and continued to reiterate that the boot was for precautionary reasons.
Be careful about that key word “expect” as we’ve been down this road before.

Lest we not forget the lingering knee injury that Clowney suffered back last season where O’Brien “expected” him to play but we didn’t see him but for only parts of the season only find that he was shut down after the midpoint.
Although Clowney hasn’t been getting the sacks that we were expecting, he’s slowly turning into back into a shell of his old self.
He’s still wreaking havoc out there when he can, trying to disrupt any and everything.

For that, I’m quite optimistic that our No. 1 pick will be the man we expected him to be.
Clowney currently has nine tackles and one forced fumble through five games this season.
Let’s keep our eyes peeled for how he practices this week and hope for the best.
The last thing we’d want to hear is that he’d be sidelined for extended time once again.
My fingers are crossed.
Go Texans.
