The Houston Texans have another date that been set…and they better not be late.

This week, they face the Peyton Manning-led Denver Broncos as the team enters its second preseason game in as many weeks.

The team looks to keep their undefeated preseason record intact after soundly defeating the San Francisco 49ers 23-10 last week.

It will also be the first time that former long-time Texans’ head coach Gary Kubiak will be returning to NRG Stadium since being fired late in the 2013 season.

He has put in time for another chance as being John Harbaugh’s chief play-caller with the Baltimore Ravens last year, doing well enough to earn him a spot as the head coach of the Broncos this season.

The Texans looked fairly decent in that contest but what was cringing for me was witnessing their goal-line offense against the Niners.

There six occasions where this time was at the one-yard line and they failed to punch the ball in which could’ve led to even more points on the board for the team.

That’s unacceptable and they need to work to correct this so that we’re not seeing this during games that count.

I saw enough of it 2013 and there was a bit of it in 2014 so this cycle needs to stop — we can’t cry that we don’t have Arian Foster to do the heavy lifting.

We have to make do with what we have.

As far as injury concerns, the list is quite light this far into the preseason:
