Houston Astros George Springer: HOH’s Week 10 Silver Star Award Winner
The Houston Astros have finally done it.
Done what?
They have finally snapped that awful seven-game losing streak that they couldn’t shake off like a plague or something.
Just watching loss after loss became quite cringing because, as you know, this season is a bit different.
Our expectations as fans are a bit higher since this team has encountered the level of success it has had.
And for good reason.
We’ve gone from the situation of accepting each loss as a part of growing pains to holding our guys more accountable when they lose.

It’s a great feeling but this rough patch the Astros experienced was bound to happen.
It happens to the best of the teams.
Baseball is tough game and you can’t bat 1.000 everyday, there are some days where nothing can seem to go right which certainly exemplified the losing streak that this team just encountered.
But the crazy thing is that the Astros racked up a lot of wins over the first couple of months of the season so their leadership in the AL West remains steady, strong and intact.
One could certainly make a case that their continuous ascent was marred by brief fall to Earth with the rest of the AL pack.

Climbing Tal's Hill
Since the Astros snapped their losing streak in such dominant fashion last night, it’s time for the team continue that said ascent with the sky being the limit.
But there was a guy that continued to show resilience throughout this funk and is certainly trending upward statistically.
Because of this, excellence deserves to be recognized — today on that type of basis continuously, we will honor an individual player that made the most impact in helping the team, despite whether it resulted in a win or a loss.
We’ve dubbed it House of Houston Silver Star Award…
And this week’s Silver Star Award goes to…
What a week that Springer has had!
With each confident step he takes, with every swing of the bat he makes, he has got his groove back with bated breath.
This guy went 5-for-5 this past Wednesday against the Chicago White Sox with a stolen base and the Astros still acquiesced 4-1.
Normally when you have a guy hitting that well, that does translate to a win for the team; but, unfortunately, it didn’t.

But it’s Springer’s time to shine when our team needs him the most!
We’ll get to treated to his amazing outfield catches, scrappy defensive attitude and no-holds barred offense.
For the past week, Springer has batted .417 with 10 hits, three doubles, one ribbie, one stolen base through six games and 24 at-bats. His OPS has elevated to a 1.003.
Wow — I’d like to see more of this so keep it up George!
