The Texans used one of their two sixth-round picks on another linebacker, Reshard Cliett of the University of South Florida.

2014 statistics: 11 games, 29 solo tackles, 8 assisted tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 6.0 sacks

Per Jayson Braddock of ESPN 97.5 Houston, the Texans seem to be enamored with what the young outside linebacker brings to the table.

If Cleitt manages to stick on the roster then playing on special teams may be his best chance of making a impact on the field this season. It is also possible he may end up seeing time at linebacker depending on various circumstances that may befall the roster, such as ineffectiveness or injuries. Head coach Bill O’Brien likes versatility from his players and Cleitt seems to fit that mold.

Per an excerpt of a NFL.com draft analysis from Mark Dulgerian of NFL Network:

"Houston’s front 7 is riddled with health issues, so it makes sense to take a flyer on this athletic outside backer. Cliett is an athletic run and chase linebacker who can contribute on 3rd downs."

Just remember that the Texans depth at outside linebacker is thin as they are without the services of Brooks Reed, who signed with Atlanta this off-season, and potentially have Jadeveon Clowney miss the start of the 2015 season.

All in all, this is another solid pick in the late rounds and Cliett should provide the Texans with valuable depth at linebacker that may come in handy in the future.
