Senquez Golson  – Cornerback

5’9”, 180 – Mississippi  (4th-5th round)

Senequez Golson is tremendously athletic and a very talented corner.  He ran a 4.46 at the combine with an outstanding 6.81 3-cone drill time.  He competes hard and has excellent ball skills with 9 interceptions and 16 pass deflections in 2014 and that was in the SEC.  Golson is also a baseball player that has been drafted by MLB but has committed to football since.  You can see his excellent hand eye coordination developed in baseball, coming through.

Why is a 2nd round talent level corner that most likely will go in the 4th or 5th round?  His height will possibly pigeon hole his position as a slot corner.  At only 5’9” most corners are useful to a team but as a slot corner back, although there have been several short corners in recent years that have showed the ability to also play on the outside at that height, we believe Golson can as well.

If the Texans wait on corner, Golson could be a steal in the 4th and possibly the 5th round.  Here are some highlights of Golson.
