The Houston Texans are getting it done.

They’re beating teams that they’re supposed to defeat and although it may not always look all that pretty, at least they’re getting the job done.

It’s paramount in order for the Texans to have some sort of shot at the postseason.

Postseason?

At the beginning of the season, there were many naysayers assuming that the Texans wouldn’t even be remotely close at contending for a playoff spot.

But here the Texans are, right in the thick of things and are definitely in the hunt.

They must continue to keep winning football games to give themselves some sort of a chance to get to the promised land — the playoffs.

It doesn’t matter HOW you get there, it’s as long as you do get there because anything can happen in any given game.

The Texans just need a shot and definitely have one at the moment.

Luckily, the Texans’ hopes were not dashed after this past Sunday’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The offense seemed to sputter at times in the first half but after halftime, the team got it together and started the slow, controlled obliteration and dismantling of the Jaguars.

I’m not sure what was said by Bill O’Brien at half time but it certainly was enough to get this team motivated to get it together and beat a struggling team.

They were only able to manage 10 points in the first half — a Randy Bullock 44-yard field goal and a Ryan Fitzpatrick four-yard touchdown down at the bottom and top of the 1st and 2nd quarters respectively.

But the Texans got it together and were able to utilize the talents of their running game to move the ball down field.

Although many players made a difference in Sunday’s win, there was one person that was responsible for moving the offense and was instrumental in getting the team the “W.”

Because of this, excellence deserves to be recognized — we started at the beginning of the season and on that type of basis continuously, we will honor an individual player that made the most impact in helping the team, despite whether it resulted in a win or a loss.

We’ve dubbed it House of Houston Golden Bull Award

And this week’s Golden Bull Award goes to…

Arian Foster!

This is his 4th time receiving this award and the first time doing so since Week 8.

Although J.J. Watt was just as sensational with four tackles, 3.0 sacks and one pass defended, Foster got the offense moving.  You have to score points to win the game you know!

Foster was doing what he does best — creating his own holes to run through and throwing the Jags inexperienced defensive line off, slicing his way to the end zone.

Alfred Blue and Foster teamed up in the second half to score a majority of the Texans’ 17 second-half points.

He sliced his way to 127 yards off 24 carries in addition to 21 receiving yards off two carries.

He was everywhere on the field and it seemed there was nothing the Jags could do to stop him.

He also passed the 1,000-yard mark in rushing yards for the 4th time in career with 1,028 yards so far.  This is despite him missing three games because of injury.  He still remains the 6th in the league in rushing yards — wow!

That’s quite an amazing feat and one that should be recognized.

So with 1,028 yards off 204 carries and eight touchdowns, I can certainly assert that this is one of Foster’s best seasons in quite some time.

More from Houston Texans

He certainly will be needed as these Texans head down the stretch for hopefully a playoff berth.

Keep doing what you’re doing Foster, we need you and stay healthy!

Go Texans!
