Week 13 Injury Report: Tennessee Titans Vs. Houston Texans

facebooktwitterreddit

The Houston Texans stumbled their way through Week 12 with a less than desirable showing against the Cincinnati Bengals — there was a lot more bad than good.

Although there were points during the game where there was hope for them to erase their deficit, the Bengals quickly made plays to keep the Texans at bay.

Now that’s all over, the team now faces and will focus on the Tennessee Titans for the last time this season.

They beat them quite highhandedly last month 30-16 at LP Field.

I’d expect the same to happen for tomorrow.

Here’s a few maladies to pay attention to as both teams take the field tomorrow afternoon.

Take a look:

For the Houston Texans, here are the players that are listed on the injury report:

Clowney and Jackson have been ruled out for Sunday.  Dent is listed as questionable.  Bullough, Clabo, Cushing, Foster, Joseph, Johnson, Lewis, Mohamed, Morris, Pickett, Swearinger and Tarpinian are probable and are good to go.

After being involved in a season-high 49 defensive snaps last week against the Bengals — 60 percent of the plays — Clowney is suffering another setback with his knee and is in a great deal of pain as it continues to swell.

ESPN’s Tania Ganguli reports:

I think the Texans should just shut Clowney down for the season and try it again next year. Their medical staff needs to figure out what is causing the swelling so he can be as good as new next season. No word yet from Bill O’Brien or the rest of the team’s brass on if he will be placed on the injured reserve list.

The Houston Texans’ Drew Dougherty reports:

Jackson is close to returning — he will be out this week but has a chance to play next Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Houston Chronicle’s Brian T. Smith reports:

Dent will likely be a game-time decision but Justin Tuggle — the likely replacement — will be ready to slide into his spot if he can’t go.

And here’s the injury report for the Tennessee Titans:

Wimbley has been ruled out for Sunday.  Griffin, Lewan, Oher and Huff are listed as questionable.  McCluster, Wreh-Wilson and Washington are probable. Lewan and Oher are two big pieces to the Titans’ offensive line on the left and right of the line and they haven’t practiced all week as they heal from their respective injuries.  Byron Stingily and Will Svitek will be ready to go if needed.

According to the Titans’ head coach Ken Whisenhunt, they’ll likely be game-time decisions:

The Titans’ secondary is also banged-up. Griffin is the starting free safety with Huff being his primary backup. Griffin did practice a bit this week albeit limited. Daimion Stafford will be ready to step in wherever he’s needed if one or both of them aren’t a-go for Sunday’s contest.

Griffin said he will be on the field and play through his shoulder injury suffered off a cheap shot on wide receiver Brad Smith last Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports:

More from Houston Texans

Wimbley also was injured last Sunday and key piece to their defensive line. Coach Whisenhunt is unsure of how long he will be out.

And there you have it — the Titans are certainly more beat-up than the Texans so it’s time for them to take advantage!

The Texans host the Titans at NRG Stadium tomorrow.

Kickoff is scheduled for noon CST.

The game will be televised on CBS and broadcast on 610 SportsRadio AM/100.3 (KILT).

Go Texans!
