Some people are not happy with the production at shortstop, and rightfully so. Jonathan Villar and a mixture of Gregorio Petit and Marwin Gonzalez was not good enough last season. Ramirez may fetch one of the biggest contracts on the free agent market for hitters. With the Astros top prospect, Carlos Correa, still a few years away Hanley could be an option.

This past season Hanley hit .283 with 35 2B, 13 HR, 71 RBI. He complied 4.7 oWAR during this season and over a 45 oWAR in his career. My only fear with Ramirez is the thought about his skills deteriorating as the contract plays out. Regardless, he is one of the best bats on the market and would make a great 1-2 punch with Altuve.
