Houston Texans: Week 8’s HOH Golden Bull Award Goes To…
After going through three straight weeks of losing, the Houston Texans finally got back to their winning ways.
I had wondered if win No. 4 would’ve ever been in sight for this team but I’m glad the team was finally able to attain it.
The now 2-6 Tennessee Titans are a really bad team and it would’ve been been devastating to see this team lose to them.
I’ve noticed that this team has found ways to lose despite the many opportunities that were available to win games and it’s nice to see that they took advantage of them.
The team did not commit any turnovers and were a bit more efficient on third downs than in past games — they were 7-for-16.
Another stat that continued to plague the Texans was the amount of penalties that were racked up per game.
However, Sunday, that stat was kept low — they only had four penalties costing them only 35 yards.
The front line did an amazing job with stopping the Titans run — they were only able to get 96 yards — Bishop Sankey had 35 of those and lead the team in rushing.
This was a game were the Texans maintained control of the game throughout and didn’t seem to relent.

After all, the slew of talent of the Texans’ roster warrants them being a lot better than the Titans and they’re a team that they’re supposed to beat.
I’m sure glad that they did.
Because if they hadn’t, I honestly feel that we’d already be starting to talking about next season and how this is likely over.
But now, winning this football game changes the dynamic of things.
The Indianapolis Colts fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday afternoon 42-20 putting their record at 5-3.
So this allows our 4-4 Texans to be two games behind the Colts to take the division lead.
This season is far from over and it doesn’t matter how you get to the big show, it’s as long as you get there.

But I’m getting ahead of myself starting to talk about playoffs already.
Playoffs? We talkin’ ’bout playoffs?
Indeed I was.
I’m just hoping we still continue to win football games.
There is one player that continues to be motor to their offense and I honestly don’t know where we’d be without him.
Because of this, excellence deserves to be recognized — we started at the beginning of the season and on that type of basis continuously, we will honor an individual player that made the most impact in helping the team, despite whether it resulted in a win or a loss.
We’ve dubbed it House of Houston Golden Bull Award…
And this week’s Golden Bull Award goes to…
I’m thoroughly in belief that no defense can shut him down.

He’s has all kinds of defenses thrown at him and he seems to still slide through and make opportunities for this football team.
The Texans’ offensive line deserves some credit as well for creating necessary blocking holes needed for him to get the yards that are needed.
Foster rushed for 151 yards of 20 carries which marks his highest total of the season. He also had two touchdown runs to his credit.
It’s quite amazing that he has 766 rushing yards in just six games — he didn’t play against the New York Giants and only had six rushing yards against the Buffalo Bills as he recovering from his hamstring injury earlier this season.
That’s off 146 total carries and he is second in the league to the Dallas Cowboys’ DeMarco Murray who was 1,054 yards off 206 carries.
Just think what would’ve been if Foster were healthy all eight games…

Wow — if the Texans do have successful enough season to get the opportunity to play in January, then Foster has to be strongly considered for the league MVP award.
Outside of J.J. Watt, there’s not a player that makes such a difference in our success than he does.
He should be recognized for it if that’s the path the team takes.
Regardless, it has been fun watching him do work out on the field and make it look so easy.
I just hope he stays healthy and that he continues fool defensive lines alike as this team progresses through the schedule.
Take a bow Arian and thanks for making this season a watchable one.
Go Texans!
