Houston Texans Fantasy Football Preview: Week 7
By Yoni Pollak
The Houston Texans lost a close game to the Colts last week, but there were plenty of star fantasy performances in that affair.
With the Texans playing on the road against the Steelers this Monday night, fantasy owners of Texans and Steelers players will need all their questions answered before Sunday’s games kick off.
Here’s our Week 7 fantasy football preview!
*Note: Thoughts are based on a 12-team, PPR league
Quarterbacks
Ryan Fitzpatrick – Steelers rank 10th in pass defense. Not sure I’d stark Fitzpatrick if they ranked 32nd in pass defense.
Ben Roethlisberger – Though “Big Ben” is averaging just over 265 passing yards per game, the Texans employ more of a “bend-but-don’t-break” approach to their secondary, which usually means yards can be had by the opposing QB. 300 yards on primetime TV wouldn’t shock me.
Prediction:
RF – 200 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
BR – 300 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT
Running Backs
Arian Foster – Back-to-back 20 carry, 100+ yard, 2 TD game. Steelers rank 14th in run defense but expect the Texans to try and pound the ball after 10 days of rest. Foster is an easy RB1.
Le’Veon Bell – Texans have been bad against the run all season long. The Steelers haven’t given Bell the carries he deserves, but if they do – and they should – he could be in for a big game.
Prediction:
AF – 21 car, 105 yards, 1 TD
LB – 20 car, 115 yards, 1 TD
Wide Receivers
Andre Johnson – Had his first GOOD fantasy game of the season last week. Steelers pass defense pretty good this season, but I think O’Brien still tries to make it a point to get the ball to the future Hall-Of-Famer.
DeAndre Hopkins – Just need to hope for a TD from Hopkins for a good fantasy day. Also always love – though I shouldn’t and it’s hurt me more than it’s helped – starting MNF players. Do you feel lucky?
Antonio Brown – He’s been one of the best fantasy receivers in the game this season. No reason to think he can’t eclipse the 100-yard mark.
Markus Wheaton – Boom or bust play on a weekly basis. You could do better.
Prediction:
AJ – 6 catches, 75 yards
DH – 4 catches, 85 yards, 1 TD
AB – 7 catches, 120 yards, 2 TD
MW – 3 catches, 40 yards
Tight End
Garrett Graham/C.J. Fiedorowicz – Can not be trusted in fantasy leagues.
Heath Miller – Texans safeties aren’t the best in coverage, but Miller way passed his TE1 days. It all depends on if you think he’ll see the endzone.
Prediction:
GG – 2 catches, 35 yards
CJF – 1 catches, 15 yards
HM – 4 catches, 60 yards

Kickers
Randy Bullock – Love MNF kickers. Rather have him than Suisham.
Shaun Suisham – Never been a fan of his.
Defense/Special Teams
Houston – The Texans did a pretty good job holding a dominant Cowboys offense to just 2 TDs. They do a nice job of forcing turnovers through struggle to get to the QB at times. At home, I wouldn’t be afraid of starting them.
Pittsburgh – 10th in pass defense and 14th in rush defense, but just 9 sacks and 3 INT this season.
Good luck with your fantasy teams this week!
