Houston Texans: Week 5’s HOH Golden Bull Award Goes To…
The Houston Texans took to their stampede to the road and headed up north to face the Dallas Cowboys, a familiar foe in a different conference that has been a rivalry between these two cities ever since they each had professional football teams.
The Houston Texans played extremely hard and despite the offensive miscues, they were able to stay in the game and push the Cowboys to overtime.
I had the opportunity to attend the match up of the ages and the excitement, electricity, rambunctiousness of the crowd definitely helped to get the Texans give it everything they had.
They almost made it to the finish line as the victor…
But almost doesn’t count and they eventually fell to the Cowboys 20-17.
One of the most impressive parts of this game is that the Cowboys gave up more rushing yards then they had been averaging.
Going into this game, the Cowboys were ranked 14th in run defense giving up 109 yards per game.

Fast-forward to this week…
The Texans were able to get 176 yards on the ground Sunday and a lot of the reason why that’s the case is because of one player.
I would consider him the X-Factor of the Texans’ offense…
Because of this, excellence deserves to be recognized — we started at the beginning of the season and on that type of basis continuously, we will honor an individual player that made the most impact in helping the team, despite whether it resulted in a win or a loss.
We’ve dubbed it House of Houston Golden Bull Award…
And this week’s Golden Bull Award goes to…
I can’t think of player that makes so much of a difference to the Texans’ offense than him.
The Cowboys were simply not able to stop him and he had his way with their defense.
I honestly didn’t think that Bill O’Brien was going to go full tilt with Foster provided that this team will have to play Thursday of this week right after Sunday’s match up.
Boy, was I wrong.
He persevered and looked like the Foster that I’m used to seeing out on the football field.
He made it look so easy slicing through defenses with his usual trotting motion as he was the factor in moving the chains.

He ended up finishing with 157 yards off 23 carries and two touchdowns.
He is so faceted that he also had two catches for 15 yards of which the longest was a 14-yard catch.
Wow!
But that’s just Foster being Foster…
Kudos to the offensive line who were able to create some holes for Foster to run through for the incredible amount of gains he was able to get.
As you know, this game transitioned to overtime and I honestly feel that the outcome of this game would’ve been a lot different had he been allowed to run on that 3rd-and-2 with 13:11 left in overtime.
He was feeling it and was in an incredible offensive rhythm.
He would’ve gotten those yards we needed and we would’ve been in position to score instead of punting the ball back to the Cowboys.
Anyway, I’m glad that No. 23 is on our side rather than with someone else.
When he’s healthy, he’s unstoppable but I’m concerned about his availability for Thursday’s match up against the Indianapolis Colts, our division rival and whom we’re fighting for the lead in the AFC South.

The Texans used him quite a bit Sunday but they’re going to need him Thursday more than ever.
Bar none, he is the key to their success and if he’s not available, it changes their offensive schemes and reduces their chances of winning the football game.
It has been fun watching him this season and I’m sure he’ll end up with more than 1,000 yards rushing total when it’s all said and done.
Let’s hope the best with his health…
Go Texans!
