2. Evan Turner: 14.0 ppg, 3.2 apg, 5.0 rpg

Evan Turner is one of the most versatile players in the NBA right now. The former number two overall draft pick, spent half of last season in the City of Brotherly Love. With a combination of low expectations and young players, Turner became the featured star of the team.

Evan Turner showed off his array of abilities last season with the Philadelphia 76ers before be traded to the Pacers. The 76’ers were historically bad and Turner benefited tremendously. While in Philadelphia, he averaged 17 points a game, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. He was able to pretty much do whatever/whenever he wanted on the floor. He showed his ability to score as well as do anything his team asked of him.

At 6’8, 220 pounds, Turner has the ability to guard multiple positions. He uses his length to frustrate ball handlers and jump passing lanes. His versatility was the main reason why teams were interested in him at the trade deadline, as he was eventually traded to Indiana.

Turner also has the ability to bring the ball up when needed, making him a point forward. He can create for himself, and others, adding to his repertoire of skills. The Rockets ranked second to last in turnovers per game last year, adding a capable ball handler would help ease away that issue.

Traded at the February deadline, Turner learned how to come off the bench for the contending Pacers. This helps Turner in any Rockets situation, as he can start at the small forward if Parsons leaves. Or he can come off the bench if Parsons stays. Either way, Turner’s versatility would surely be an asset to the Rockets.

Evan Turner’s stock took a hit after he was traded to Indiana as he struggled to find his role. If he can be signed at a reasonable, mid-level price, he could be a great fit for the Rockets.
