Miller is a prolific three point marksman. Amnestied by the Miami Heat, Miller went back to Memphis this past season. His health has always been a factor and this year he was able to stay healthier than he has in previous years. Miller could help the Rockets in a few ways.

With Francisco Garcia likely on his way out, Miller can step in and be the backup shooting guard. His shooting ability would be on display, with a majority of the defensive attention on Howard and Harden. Miller would get plenty of open looks in Houston. If there is one thing that Miller does, it’s knock down open threes making him a logical choice for the Rockets.

Miller also brings a good deal of playoff experience to the Rockets he is not afraid of taking the big shot and he is capable of making them. This was evident in game five of the 2012 NBA Finals when he hit 7/8 from beyond the arc, being instrumental in leading the Heat to a Finals-clinching victory.

Defense is not one of Miller’s strengths, however, his role on the Rockets would be to provide short spurts of offense while Harden gets the rest. Miller is a trusted three point shooter and can be used down the stretch, in key offensive moments.

At this point in his career, Miller would come in at a low price, making him a low risk high reward acquisition for the Rockets.
