Bayou City Headlines: Fake Twitter Report Sends Houston Texans Fans Into Frenzy

facebooktwitterreddit

Earlier on Thursday, a person with the Twitter handle @Nicholas_Spain sent out a tweet saying the Cleveland Browns have offered the Texans two first round picks for Andre Johnson. After Miles Austin became a Brown, Spain said the offer has been changed to just a first and a third. Many Texans fans laughed at the report saying the Browns would be absurd to make the offer. Spain claims to be an “Browns Insider – CBS Rotoworld, ESPN Insider” though his twitter work doesn’t make him seem like a professional.

The report seems to be fake, though Spain is still standing by his word. It’s a lose-lose for Spain though as a huge Browns fan. If he’s right, the Browns sending a first rounder plus another early pick is an absurd price to send Houston’s way. If he’s wrong, well….he’s wrong. •  Josh Gajewski (MLB.com) on the Lancaster trio that threw a no-hitter.

"On a patch of the Mojave Desert in the city of Lancaster, Calif., five Minor League baseball players share a big yellow house surrounded by dry brush and tumbleweeds. It has two stories, six bedrooms and a modest patio."

  • Brian McTaggart (MLB.com) on the Astros starting rotation.
  • Jared Webb (AstrosTurf) on the Astros options with the number one overall pick.

Houston Rockets

"As expected, Isaiah Canaan spent most of his inaugural NBA season riding the roller roaster back and forth between Houston and the Rockets’ D-League affiliate in Rio Grande Valley. While with the Vipers, the rookie point guard did pretty much everything asked of him, averaging nearly 22 points and more than eight assists per game while bulling his way to the free throw line approximately six times per contest as well. An injury to Patrick Beverley in late March then opened up an opportunity for Canaan to see time as Houston’s primary backup at the point guard position. During that seven-game stretch, he averaged 9.3 points and two assists in more than 21 minutes of action per game while shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc."

Houston Texans

"Johnson has told the team he isn’t a happy camper. Technically, he isn’t a camper, as he missed a voluntary minicamp last week and right now doesn’t plan to participate in other voluntary activities or a June minicamp."

  • Joel Childers (Toro Times) takes a look at the Texans undrafted free agents.
  • Jason Passehl (CSN Houston) no the rookies expectations in 2014.
