Game 1: Lucas Harrell (0-0, 0.00 ERA) vs. Garrett Richards (0-0, 0.00 ERA)

Did I try and find the worst picture of Lucas Harrell to put on this page? Yes.

Did I achieve my goal? Yes.

Am I proud of myself? Yes.

Lucas Harrell makes his

dreaded

season debut against a team that he has pitched well (for Harrell) against in the past. He has started against the Angels three times, and in 17.2 innings he has achieved a 1.53 ERA.

I must warn you not to take that as a good omen though as he has given up 3 home runs and has a 1.41 WHIP against the team from Los Angeles, or Anaheim, or wherever they’re from.

Garrett Richards was all over the place for the Angels last year. He made played in 47 games throughout the course of the season, and 17 of those appearances were starts.

After permanently joining the Angels’ rotation in July last year though, the Oklahoma Sooner alumnus made 13 starts with five wins, seven quality starts, a 3.72 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP. He is ground-ball pitcher, and that will come in handy playing in a stadium like Minute Maid Park that has seen the Astros hit four home runs already this year.
