1. George Springer

Ok. We’re here. This is the one you’ve all been waiting for… literally. We’re all very anxious to see George Springer manning the outfield at Minute Maid.

Springer is hopefully going to make his debut anywhere from 1-2 months into the 2014 season with the Astros.

He should be starting for the team on Opening Day, but as is explained here, the business side of baseball takes precedent.

Springer was the 1st round pick for the Astros in 2011, going 11th overall to Houston and has been thriving in the minors ever since.

His 2013 season with AAA was nothing short of amazing. He hit for power with a .303 BA, slugging 37 HR, with 108 RBI. He also has some serious speed and doesn’t hesitate to show that off on the base path. Last season he tallied 45 stolen bases.

There is nothing but potential with Springer. The good news is (aside from his pending arrival), that he doesn’t represent the last of the talent scheduled to arrive at the big league level, either. Over the course of these articles, you’ve been introduced to many of the top prospects in the organization.

It’s definitely a time to start paying attention to baseball again, Houston. You owe it to yourself. We’re about to see something special happen as our franchise begins the rise to former greatness (hopefully) that we’ve all been waiting for.

Now, if we could just solve that Comcast debacle….
