Johnny Manziel – Texas A&M

The Manziel-to-Houston hype has died off lately with all of the speculation of the Texans bypassing a quarterback to grab Jadeveon Clowney. That is very premature, especially since the electrifying Manziel has yet to throw for scouts.

Lots of concern about Manziel’s mental makeup was not going to be cleared up in the 15 minute interviews teams were granted at the combine. Now the Texans can sit down for extended periods of time and get a fair evaluation.

Another thing we all underestimate is the fact that the NFL is ultimately a business. If a team believes they can win with Manziel, they’d be stupid not to roll the dice. Manziel is the biggest money-maker to come out in years, if not ever.

That coupled with the fact that he is from Texas and CAN PLAY leads me to ignore the “Bill O’Brien wants a big pocket quarterback” talk.

It will be hard for Owner Bob McNair to not want to follow Nike and profit off of JFF.
