Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
IT’S DEADLINE DAY! We will be updating this page all day long with the latest Rockets rumors. If a trade breaks, expect a post up as quickly as possible. Otherwise, keep it here for all the latest rumors!
Earlier in-season rumors updates: #1, #2, #3, #4
Trade Deadline: Today, 2:00 PM CT.
Note: My thoughts will be italicized.
Deadline appears to have passed with the Rockets making just one move.
2:25 PM – Well past deadline. Rockets likely finished but no insider/expert/reporter has confirmed if the Rockets are done quite yet. Could they sneak in another deal? Stay tuned.
1:39 PM – The Rockets have made their first trade. Check out our new post about the move.

11:55 AM – Marc Stein (ESPN) gives us an Asik update.
As of last night, I'm told, Rockets were strongly leaning toward keeping Omer Asik rest of season before trying to trade him again. But ...

But I must note that Rockets' GM Daryl Morey always makes a deadline trade and we still have three hours left until trade season is over

8:52 AM – Adrian Wojnarowski (Yahoo Sports) says one potential Rockets target is headed to Cleveland.

Well there goes that perfect fit for the Rockets!12:12 AM – Peter Vecsey says that Howard may not be too thrilled if Rajon Rondo were a Rocket.
Hearing Howard isn't thrilled by prospects of RR joining HR. Not that he's opposed but not crazy about it. Different attitudes & approaches
— Peter Vecsey (@PeterVecsey1) February 20, 2014
Why would Howard feel that way? Rondo is cutthroat! A Kobe Klone! Howard likes to play around
— Peter Vecsey (@PeterVecsey1) February 20, 2014
You could choose whether or not to believe Vecsey but his reasoning does make sense. Would Howard tell Morey not to pull the trigger though if it makes the team better? We may just find out! FROM YESTERDAY 9:20 PM – Alex Kennedy (Basketball Insiders) tells us that Jeremy Lin is likely not headed back to New York.
Source close to the situation says that Jeremy Lin being traded back to the New York Knicks is "very unlikely."

4:26 PM – Jonathan Feigen (Houston Chronicle) wrote that the Rockets are looking for a “home run deal” which by definition are usually less likely. Feigen also noted that Francisco Garcia and Aaron Brooks have yet to have been asked if they’d accept a trade elsewhere. Both players signed deals this past offseason giving them the right to veto a trade. 4:02 PM – Gery Woelfel is a respected journalist, connected usually with the Milwaukee Bucks but he has sources across the NBA. Here’s his update.
Hearing Mavs are seriously pursuing backup big and Rockets honing in on perimeter player to bolster playoff run.
— Gery Woelfel (@GeryWoelfel) February 19, 2014
If I had to guess, I’d say the Rockets likely have a (minor) deal in place that they could pull the trigger on, but will wait until all other options are exhausted.
Again, keep it here as we update you on all the latest Rockets trade rumors throughout the day.
