5. The Astrodome

Remember this Houston treasure? The 8th Wonder of the World. The home of so much Houston sports history.

The Astrodome has been left for dead. Houston voters thought that $8 year in property taxes was going to crush their wallet. $8 a year! $8 a year and the Astrodome doesn’t get torn down. Who’s voting “no” to this?

I thought this was oil country? Where the money flows with the oil prices?

You want to see me get pissed. Stand next to me while I pump gas in my car. I feel like I’m throwing money on the floor every time.

I work downtown. It’s $3.50 a gallon!

I’m paying $3.50 for a gallon of gas and Houston voters can’t spend $8 a year to renovate the Astrodome?

So now what? Do we just tear it down?

Hey Houston, if you’re offended because 25,000 Hurricane Katrina Refugees used the Astrodome as a toilet, you should be. But that’s not an excuse to tear it down. It’s called bleach. I’m sure they would do a deep clean on that bad boy with public funded dollars.

The more I think about this, the more I hate people. So I’m going to move on.

There is a slight chance the Astrodome will live. But it’s not looking good.

I love Houston and it’s history. The Houston Astrodome represents both.
