5. Rice University Clinched First Outright Conference Title Since 1957 (December 7th)
It was 56 years ago since Rice University had something to cheer about in regards to their football program. For a school known more for their academics than football, it was great seeing their football program come out victorious.
Rice came out of the gates with a trick play to start the scoring. They would score the next series and go up by as much as 24 at one point in the game. Marshall never really had a chance as the Owls would end up winning by a final score of 41-24.
