Texans Report Card Through The Bye Week

Offensive Line 

The pass protection has been struggling this season and very inconsistent. Duane Brown, Wade Smith, and Brandon Brooks have been banged up this season and Derek Newton has been a disappointment in pass protection. The better pass rushers have been able to get to the quarterback though the Texans O-line has held their own against average pass rushers. Chris Myers is having another good season but the others have struggled at times this season. The run blocking has been a lot better than the pass protection. The difference in run-blocking is night-and-day for a player like Derek Newton. Both running backs are averaging over four yards per carry and it’s always been the Texans forte to establish the run.
