The pass protection has been struggling this season and very inconsistent.Duane Brown,Wade Smith, andBrandon Brookshave been banged up this season andDerek Newtonhas been a disappointment in pass protection. The better pass rushers have been able to get to the quarterback though the Texans O-line has held their own against average pass rushers.Chris Myersis having another good season but the others have struggled at times this season. The run blocking has been a lot better than the pass protection. The difference in run-blocking is night-and-day for a player like Derek Newton. Both running backs are averaging over four yards per carry and it’s always been the Texans forte to establish the run.
