The Houston Astros have crossed into uncharted territory with the best start in franchise history with a 25-11 record.

The Houston Astros have crossed into uncharted territory with the best start in franchise history with a 25-11 record.

In fact, that’s good enough for the best record in baseball.

They were neck-and-neck with a lot of division-leading teams but that title no belongs to the Houston Astros alone and for that, I’m damn proud.

Did I also mention that this team has an eight-game lead in the AL West?

In my opinion, it’s worth doing so.

Although the starting pitching outside of Dallas Keuchel, Lance McCullers, Jr. and Charlie Morton has been less than desired, the incredible resilience of our hitting and the bullpen has kept this team in great position through 36 games.

We can firmly assert that this Astros team is for real and they’re going to do what they can to remain competitive.

They’re nearly a quarter through the 162-game season and they’re continuing to allow heads to turn.

Another example of a person that’s been quite impressive and has turned a corner is one of our brightest stars.

Who am I talking about?

It’s none other than Carlos Correa.

I have to admit, I was a bit worried about if he’d re-surge as he had a rough start — striking out left and right and barely able to hit his weight.

But he’s come on strong now — being able to hit in clutch spots and do the things that we’d expect out of our former No.1 pick and AL Rookie of the Year.

His defense has always been impressive on the field but it was his hitting that need some work and I think he’s finally gotten his mojo back.

His current slash line is .287/.359/.481 with an admirably-rising .839 OPS.

His ribbies are picking up a bit with 20 of those for him on the season.

But he’s contributing to an even greater trend of the team as a cohesive unit hitting a lot better than season’s start.

Next: What Should The Team Do With Mike Fiers?

With a batting average of .274, they’re the 2nd-best hitting team in baseball, trailing only the Washington Nationals (.283).

Hell, even Jake Marisnick is hitting .263 and is certainly doing his part to help his team win!

Did you see the throw Thursday night against the Yankees?

Sensational!

All I know that this team has been fun to watch and they’ve been such a pick-me-up aside from the Houston Rockets embarrassing end but admirable 2016-17 season as a whole.

But superb things are coming for our beloved baseball team and Correa will be a big part of that.

Go Astros.
