We’re  about a month away from the commencement of the NFL Draft and the Houston Texans are going to be undoubtedly a huge part of it.

We’re  about a month away from the commencement of the NFL Draft and the Houston Texans are going to be undoubtedly a huge part of it.

There are plethora of needs that this team needs to fill and a lot of that can be done in this year’s draft.

Of course, our top priority in terms of needs is going to be a competent quarterback to take over the reins of Bill O’Brien‘s effective but sometimes complex system.

The musical chair game of quarterback under O’Brien continues as the Houston Texans decided to give Brock Osweiler the boot in a trade with the Cleveland Browns.

Osweiler stunk up the joint and the Houston Texans needed cap relief from his monstrous salary so they did the right thing and made the deal so they have as much flexibility as possible moving forward.

That needs to be addressed as well as strong offensive line to protect whomever is under center and it wouldn’t hurt for the team to find some reinforcements in the secondary and on the defensive line.

But at least we know that the Texans are seriously looking at upgrading on talented guys that can cover the QB.

According to the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson, the Texans worked out Villanova tackle Brad Seaton this past Friday.

This is excellent news to hear and it’s apparent the Texans are going to aim high in terms of bringing talent in to a struggling unit.

So who is Brad Seaton?

The 6’8,” 310-pound offensive tackle has been a focal point of the Villanova’s offense over the past three seasons.

From a redshirt prospect to a coveted piece, Seaton has proved that his frame and his ability to protect some of his biggest traits as a football player.

Although his 2015 season was cut short because of injury, he came back strong last season to prove his worth in the pro leagues.

Here’s what Walter Football.com’s Charlie Campbell had to say about Seaton:

"“Seaton has big-time size and could be a sleeper prospect who ends up being a steal from the 2017 NFL Draft. He broke into the starting lineup in 2014 and played well. A season-ending injury cost Seaton all but three contests in 2015, but he returned to the field to have a strong senior year in 2016. With strong workouts leading up to the 2017 NFL Draft, Seaton could rise.”"

Campbell projects that Seaton could be drafted as early as the 4th round but with such interest in the tackle, it could be earlier.

Who knows?

Of course, this isn’t the first time the Texans have gotten up close and personal with the tackle, they were already scouting him at the College Gridiron Showcase back in early January.

This affirms that they’re seriously are looking to bring him into the fold if he was privately worked out.

The Kansas City Chiefs also have interest as he recently worked out for them as well.

Seaton’s Pro Day at Villanova U is scheduled for March 27 and I’m sure the Texans will be in attendance.

From what many have been saying about this guy, this rising star would be a heck of an add to the offensive line.

Let’s hope they do.

Go Texans.
