It wasn’t necessarily a cakewalk but the Houston Rockets certainly took care of business against the Los Angeles Lakers this past Wednesday.

It wasn’t necessarily a cakewalk but the Houston Rockets certainly took care of business against the Los Angeles Lakers this past Wednesday.

The Lakers defense was so bad it should be a crime for as such!

But any way, the Rockets will take on the 27-41 New Orleans Pelicans tonight as they play some solid defense.

The problem is that their offense is meager and until that changes, they won’t be able to keep up with us just like the last time they matched up Feb. 23.

I’d expect the same for tonight as nothing much has changed.

But you never know what you’ll see.

So what’s next?

So who’s leading the charge for the Pelicans?

Anthony Davis leads the team in scoring (27.9 PPG) and is in charge of the shot-blocking (2.3 BPG)He is also the top board-getter (11.8  RPG). Jrue Holiday is in charge of the dimes (7.3 APG) and steals (1.6 SPG).

Let’s talk about what the Pelicans do well.

Their team defense still remains consistently great.  The Pelicans are ranked 7th in defensive efficiency, allowing just 104.3 points per 100 possessions.

They love to have the basketball in their hands.  The Pelicans are ranked 9th in PACE, averaging 99.9 possessions per game.

They take care of the basketball.  The Pelicans are tied for 6th — along with the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers — in turnover ratio with just 12.1 percent of their possessions ending in a turnover.

Injuries:

There are no injuries to report for the Houston Rockets.

As for the Pelicans, Omer Asik has been out with an illness and is expected to be a game-time decision for tonight’s game.  Although not essential to the Pelicans’ operation, he does help with their depth.

Quincy Pondexter has sustained a knee injury and is expected to be out likely through the end of the season.
