Day 2 has came and went for the Houston Texans amid the ton of activity for most teams in the NFL.

Day 2 has came and went for the Houston Texans amid the ton of activity for most teams in the NFL.

But for the Houston Texans, things seemed strangely quiet.

There are still some key pieces that the Texans need for the 2017 season and the one everyone is talking about is the quarterback position.

The Texans still remain interested in Tony Romo per reports but will not trade for him. I can understand the Texans not giving up any picks for a 37-year-old quarterback.

Hats off to the Dallas Cowboys for trying to create a market for their quarterback. I personally think they will release him; and when they do, that is when the Texans go after him.

The other team reportedly looking into Romo are the Denver Broncos.

In my opinion, I just don’t see them making a serious run at him.

They are reportedly happy and content with Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch.

Now reports are coming out that even if Romo is released the Broncos won’t be is a serious pursuit of the quarterback when and if he is released.

Then there is the Dallas Cowboys.

Reports came late Wednesday evening that they were going to release him and that sent social media into a frenzy.

The Cowboys had other ideas as they decided to change their minds and hold on to him right before the free agency period began. The Cowboys hold the cards in this game.

They can choose to hold Romo hostage and try to create a market for him which is not likely to materialize or do right by your quarterback and just release him.

My opinion is that Jerry Jones has a real problem just letting Romo go and possibly signing with inner state rival the Houston Texans.

Jerry is a very prideful and rightfully so GM/Owner around the league.

Letting go his best quarterback since Troy Aikman off in the sunset to a team that is in the same state to potentially make a serious run in the playoffs is something hard to swallow for Jerry.

This brings me back to the Texans. I really like the quite game the Texans are playing right now. They were quiet yesterday up until 15 minutes prior to free agency and then BOOM.

The Texans are working now to fix their biggest problem and number one need is a quarterback.

We just all have to sit back and relax until something comes about.

One thing is guaranteed is there will be a new quarterback on the Texans roster for the 2017 season either via free agency, trade, or draft.

This is a good thing for the fans. Maybe the Texans will finally find their franchise quarterback.

Maybe they don’t, but with learning a hard lesson after last season they cant go anywhere but up.
