The Houston Rockets looked like the team we loved this past Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Houston Rockets looked like the team we loved this past Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers.

After a terrible showing against the Indiana Pacers, the Rockets bounced back and beat the Clips in 122-103 while shooting 38.5 percent from behind-the-arc.

It won’t be easy as the Rockets will take on the 36-26 Memphis Grizzlies tonight as they play some of the best defense that you’ll ever want to see.

The three-ball must be falling tonight in order to beat the Grizz because if it’s not, then we’ll have problems.

So what’s next?

So who’s leading the charge for the Grizzlies?

Marc Gasol leads the team in scoring (20.5 PPG) and is in charge of the shot-blocking (1.4 BPG). Zach Randolph is the top board-getter (8.3 RPG).  Mike Conley is in charge of the dimes (6.2 APG) and Tony Allen in steals (1.8 SPG).

Let’s talk about what the Grizzlies do well.

Their team defense still remains consistently great.  The Grizzlies are ranked 4th in defensive efficiency, allowing just 103.2 points per 100 possessions.  They’ve been a Top 5 defense all season I don’t see THAT changing any time soon.

They’re a solid rebounding team.  The Grizzlies are ranked 9th in rebound rate — tied with the Golden State Warriors — taking down 50.7 percent of missed shots.

They take care of the basketball.  The Grizzlies are tied for 5th — along with the Boston Celtics — in turnover ratio with just 12 percent of their possessions ending in a turnover.

Injuries:

There are no injuries to report for the Houston Rockets.

As for the Grizzlies, Brandan Wright has left to team to witness the birth of his twin girls, which happened yesterday.  He did not make the team trip so I’d likely deem not available for tonight’s game.  They’ll be back at home for their Monday game against the Nets so it’d make sense for him to stay.
