The Houston Rockets are T-minus two days away from the NBA trade deadline this Thursday.

The Houston Rockets are T-minus two days away from the NBA trade deadline this Thursday.

What’s going on?

Yep, you guessed it, no meaningful news has emanated out of the Rockets offices at 1510 Polk so us fans are getting antsy in regard to this team making a deal before deadline.

You know Daryl Morey has itchy trigger fingers at this time of the year but will he actually act on those sentiments this year.

It remains to be seen.

As I’ve written previously, the Houston Rockets chemistry is at an all-time high, a stark contrast from last season.

You’d think the whole team is sitting around a circle singing “kumbaya” the harmony is so good.

Okay, I may be stretching this a bit but things are looking quite solid on that front; and for that, I’m happy.

But any way, the biggest pieces that have been traded so far are Serge Ibaka; and then most recently, DeMarcus Cousins, which has everybody talking.

Considering what the New Orleans Pelicans had to give up to get him, it makes us all wonder how much of concern he was to teams if he were brought in to their respective franchises.

He wouldn’t have worked out here and that’s all there is to it.

But any way, as things transition,  a fresh nugget was dropped in regard to closer confirmation that the Rockets could be interested in forward Wilson Chandler.

Here’s what ESPN’s Chris B. Haynes had to say about the matter:

And ESPN Rockets beat reporter Calvin Watkins had this to add to that tweet:

This is encouraging news as I previously wrote about Chandler being another option if a deal for Serge Ibaka fell through.

He’s not happy with his situation with the Denver Nuggets and I imagine he wants to be on a team where there’s more stability and the will to win.

That’s certainly the case with the Houston Rockets at this time, thanks to the leadership team that’s in place with the organization.

Next: Should The Rockets Pursue Larry Sanders?

I also mentioned in my initial piece is that I’d trade Corey Brewer, K.J. McDaniels and our 2017 first-rounder to make this potential deal to get set in stone.

However, it remains to be seen if those guys are valuable enough chips to include in a trade for such a guy.

I would certainly hope so and Morey should be working the phones expeditiously with Tim Connelly in regard to what it would take to land the budding talent waiting to bloom even more.

We’ll have to see.

Stay and fasten those seat belts!

Go Rockets.
