Despite all of the challenges the Houston Texans have faced this season whether it be injuries, lack of execution of the game plan or just plain brain farts, this team has won the AFC South with a possible 10-6 record to end the season.

Despite all of the challenges the Houston Texans have faced this season whether it be injuries, lack of execution of the game plan or just plain brain farts, this team has won the AFC South with a possible 10-6 record to end the season.

This team is quite talented from top to bottom and you better believe Bill O’Brien is going to have these guys prepared to reach their full potential.

I know many have called for O’Brien head because of the continued ineptitude on offense but it’s not easy to produce three winning seasons in a row along with two straight division titles.

He doesn’t necessarily have all the parts he needs to be successful but makes do with he has.

O’Brien should be lauded for his resourcefulness and the ability to make do with less.

If the Houston Texans signed him to extension, I wouldn’t be against it one iota.

He has done a lot more good than bad.

Any way, the Houston Texans will be facing a Tennessee Titans team that has fell on hard times in just one moment.

The Titans were on the verge of challenging the Houston Texans for the AFC South title until the Jacksonville Jaguars ferociously played spoiler, beating the Titans 38-17.

This was also coupled with Marcus Mariota‘s season-ending injury to his right leg this past Sunday.

Despite all of what happened, this is the most dangerous match up the Houston Texans could face — a team with literally nothing to lose.

With the exception of pride.

The Titans’ defense is ranked 21st in terms of yards allowed (362.1 yards per game).  They are ranked 31st against the pass (270.9 YPG) and 5th against the run (91.1 YPG).

Their offense is ranked 8th (366.1 YPG).

Next: Analysis: Could Tom Savage Be The Answer?

Bold Predictions:

1.)  Brock Osweiler will make an appearance and redeem himself for all the bad.

Tom Savage is finally in the saddle under center for the Houston Texans.

As bad as Osweiler had been playing and as hard as Savage has worked for his opportunity, he didn’t let it go to waste to drive the Texans to an impressive, come-from-behind win two Sundays ago.

But let’s not put too much pressure on him, he’s wanting to succeed but will make mistakes.

The difference is that his errors will be quickly followed with corrections to help this team continue to win football games.

I don’t expect Savage to play all that much tomorrow and Osweiler will get the majority of the snaps.

We all have to understand that this man was benched in favor of a relatively unknown backup quarterback.

He’s bummed, he’s ticked off and is going to play that way to try to win the job back.

He won’t but the effort we’ll see will be inspiring, further cementing his status as a future backup quarterback when his contract with the Texans runs out.

How does 250 yards with three touchdowns sound?

It’s definitely possible considering the Titans may be somewhat mailing this game in as it has no particular meaning.

2.) Jonathan Grimes will be the leading rusher for the Texans.

Jonathan Grimes is coming into his own once again.  For a guy that continues to be on chopping block during the round of cuts after training camp, he always finds a way to make a roster.

He’s a hard-worker, he’s a bruiser and loves to bulldoze through his defenders one-by-one!

The Titans will be preparing for Alfred Blue because Lamar Miller will be OUT and here’s every opportunity for Grimes to shine.

The Titans’ front seven is damn good but it’s possible for a bruiser like him that it could happen but it all depends on if our offensive line can create this necessary holes for him.

Our offensive line is ranked 15th as per Football Outsiders in terms of their run blocking and deservedly so.

I’d expect that ranking to improve a tick as the O-Line seemed more compelled to run block and protect for Tom Savage as soon as he stepped into the fold.

There’s no reason why he can’t have at least 50 yards and a touchdown.

3.)  Quintin Demps will take a Matt Cassel Pick-6 to the house.

To say that Demps has contributed on a remarkable level is an understatement.

His second tour of duty with the Texans has been a fruitful as he continues to have one of his best seasons on record at the age of 31.

His five interceptions are a career-high and he’s tied for 2nd in the league along with the greats such as Landon Collins, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Marcus Peters.

That’s not an easy feat so I expect for him to step his game a bit more and get one more for the road off Cassel, who’s been terrible wherever he’s gone since he left the New England Patriots.

I’ll be watching and waiting for this moment, wait and see!

Game Score Prediction: 31-17 in a Houston Texans’ win!

Go Texans.
