Week 13 Houston Texans At Buffalo Bills: Game Information and Predictions

facebooktwitterreddit

The Houston Texans continue to prove that they belong in this playoff race.

They’ve worked hard to get where they were and seem that they’re not going to stop that momentum today.

I think this team now gets it in terms of what it takes to win with the resources that they have.

The players have now been put in respective positions to help their win while some have been benched — ahem Rahim Moore — in favor of those who have been hindering the team’s chances.

I just like that this coaching staff doesn’t look at salary in terms of who gets the starting job.

That’s something one must earn and it’s not anything that’s entitled.

They’ll be facing Rex Ryan’s 5-6 Buffalo Bills today and it won’t be easy against that plays tough gridiron football.

He hasn’t been doing a lot of trash-talking of late as his team has lost four of their seven games.

But it should be a good match up and the Texans will lay it all out on the field as this is a must-win to stay in contention for the race for the division and the AFC Wild Card.

Here’s everything you need to know about today’s game:

Bold Predictions:

1.)  J.J. Watt will have 3.5 sacks.

This idea isn’t too far-fetched.  With the way Watt terrorized the New Orleans Saints last week as if their offensive line were tissue paper, I’d say he could have his way with the Bills as well.  With injuries to key guys such as guard John Miller and tackle Seantrel Henderson, there’s plenty of opportunity for J.J. to feast.  I truly do believe Tyrod Taylor will be doing his best Sammy Davis, Jr. impression by tap-dancing all over the field to avoid Watt at all costs.

2.)  Jadeveon Clowney emerges with a spectacular game on the pass rush.

Clowney has been due for a monster game and this may be the one.  So how about a four tackles, two passes defended and one sack?  They’re playing against the Bills’ offense that averages 210.4 yards per game on the pass.  That’s good for 28th in the league.  With the Texans now third in defending the pass (allowing 219.6 yards per game), I’m sure Clowney is going to make himself known this afternoon.

3.)  LeSean McCoy rushes for 150 yards.

The Texans still have some work to do in defending the run and that’s where I feel the Bills will try to hit this team hard.  They’re currently 16th in defending the run (allowing 107.5 yards per game).  Shady hasn’t rushed for more than 112 yards so far this season — which has occurred twice — against the Miami Dolphins in Week 9 and the New York Jets in Week 10.  The Bills won both of those games so let’s hope that formula doesn’t work in the Bills’ favor.  If anything, this new-look Texans’ defense will be reverse any trends heading their way.

Game Score Prediction: 27-21 in a Texans’ win!
