  • Houston (July 5), of course, is just one of their stops and the other nine cities are/were:   Omaha, Neb. (June 27), Kansas City, Mo. (June 28), Washington, DC (July 2), Indianapolis (July 11), Chicago (July 12), Philadelphia (July 18), New York (July 19) and Birmingham, Ala. (July 26).

With a tour featuring some of the well-known blacktop legends such as The Professor, the Bone Collector, AO and Sik Wit It, the event is certainly primed to include plenty of entertainment for everyone!

    Here’s how the tour operates:

In each city, local amateurs will have an opportunity to tryout and showcase their talents against those aforementioned ballers who are a part of the Ball Up All-Star roster.

What’s on the line for those amateurs?

A spot on Ball Up’s All-Star roster and a $100,000 contract for the finalist!

If that’s not motivation to win the whole damn thing, I don’t know what is!

There will be 1o players that will be selected out of that said group of amateurs and will participate in a duel against the All-Stars later on in the event.

A guest NBA star will serve the role as a coach and we prepare them adequately for the challenge that has been set forth for them.

Wow — what not a better motivation than an actual NBA player that has your back?!?

Two MVPs will be selected out of the 10 and will be invited to an intense combine camp to which the final 10 of those selections out of that happening will compete in a championship game against the All-Stars at StubHub Center in L.A. August 1.

The ultimate finalist will selected by premier evaluators of basketball skills in Ball Up judges and a guest NBA star.

It’s a long, winding road for the participants but there’s no doubt that these guys will give it their all and demonstrate to the world why they’re best and belong in the street ball conversation.

And by the way, Search for the Next will be filmed at each city stop and packaged together as a television series on Fox Sports which continues to garner substantiated ratings for the network.

In fact, NBA stars that have headlined the event in the past were:  James Harden, Joakim Noah, Kyle Lowry, Derek Fisher, Gilbert Arenas, Julius Erving and Dennis Rodman.

So if you have a free moment and if you want to check out an event that’s second to none, I implore you do so!

Head on out to the Hof to be dazzled!
