This saga of a Houston Rockets season gets better and better!

The crazy thing is that there’s six games left and a fan can still expect the unexpected.

Especially in regard to what James Harden will do night in-and-out.

Once again, he was sensational and was instrumental in ensuring the Rockets were able to get the win last night.

It seemed as if nobody to stand in the way of his momentum, similar to the speed of a bullet train hurtling down the aisle.

No matter the circumstances, he did what he does best, finding innovative ways to put the ball in the hoop.

Those talents were invaluable it’s quite amazing watching his storybook of NBA season unfold before our eyes.

There’s still a lot of basketball left and us Rockets’ fans are going to be treated to a show with the utmost of quality as the Beard makes his case to being the league’s most valuable player.

We’ll talk about is stat line in a bit…

At the start of the game, the Rockets poured it on early against the Sacramento Kings, going up 13-3 with 7:05 left in the quarter.

The Rockets kept control but the Kings went on a late 6-0 run to pull within one point after a Ray McCallum jumper.  Rockets 22, Kings 21

However, Harden rose to the occasion, scoring six of 16 total scoring points for the quarter, putting Rockets up 35-25 at the end of the 1st.

The Beard even got Clint Capela, who was recently called up from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, involved by lobbing the ball in the air just right for Clint to slam an alley-oop.

I’m really liking Capela’s progress in terms of development and it could mean good things for the Rockets in the future.

As for the 2nd quarter, the Rockets went out and attacked early putting themselves up 51-41 after a Harden three-pointer with 5:38 left.

However, the Kings went on a 12-3 run and pulled back within one point after an Omri Casspi layup with 2:00 left in the 1st half. Rockets 54, Kings 53

The Rockets did hold on to still continue to lead at the end of the 1st half, 58-55.

The Beard already had 24 points to his credit after nailing his signature step-back jumper just before the close of the 1st half.

The Kings continued to challenge the Rockets, taking the lead for the first time in awhile after a DeMarcus Cousins jumper with 9:51 left.  Kings 62, Rockets 61

Things were close until the Rockets started to pull away with a commanding lead.

And the end of the 3rd quarter, the Rockets led 97-86 with Harden scoring 17 points in the 3rd for a total of 41 points on the night for him.

The Kings continued to battle toe-to-toe with the Rockets, going a 16-4 run to pull within two points after a Casspi dunk with 5:50 left to go.  Rockets 104, Kings 102

But Harden refused to let the Kings take the lead once again by scoring seven points in the final 5:25 to keep the Rockets on top.

The Kings did pull within four points toward the end but it wasn’t enough to match the firepower of the Beard, who was literally a one-man show at that point.

The Rockets held on for the win.   Final Score: Rockets 115, Kings 111

It’s safe to say that without the Beard’s presence, this game would’ve been a lot different and there’s a possibility that this game may not have been as easy to overcome.

But a win’s a win and that’s all that matters.

The Beard led all scorers with a career-high 51 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals including 11-of-13 from the charity stripe.

Trevor Ariza had 22 points and three steals off 6-for-14 shooting behind-the-arc.

Terrence Jones had 16/7 with seven blocks to his credit in his first game back after missing six with a lung injury.  He played 31 minutes last night.

Unfortunately, Cousins had plenty of opportunities to play well and he was able to notch a triple-double with 24 points, 21 rebounds, 10 assists and six blocked shots.

Casspi, a former Rocket, had 18 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
