James Harden: HOH’s Week 13 Silver Booster Award Winner

facebooktwitterreddit

It’s another week of wins but unfortunate losses for the Houston Rockets.

The plot thickened with plenty of twists and turns as the Rockets took on the Indiana Pacers, Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns.

There were high points, there were low points there were moments were it was in-between and we were scratching our heads.

Despite all of what happened, the Rockets amassed a 2-1 record for this past week with few surprises in regard to how the week turned out.

I expected the Rockets to put out a better effort against the Warriors than they did.

In all four occasions this season, the Rockets were dominated on all counts and there was nothing they could do about it.

This was despite the adjustments that were made to match up and those efforts were rendered fruitless.

The Warriors own the Rockets this season — it’s really tough to admit that but it’s true.

But remember that championships are won after the regular season, not during so the competitiveness this team will have could be totally different by then.

You can bank on it.

It will be time to hit the reset button and set the record to 0-0.

I know many will have their doubts but this will do what it takes to get the job done.

By the way, there will be player that will continue to be in the mix and has been quite consistent this week.

It also was one of his best weeks of the season as well.

Because of this, excellence deserves to be recognized — today on that type of basis continuously, we will honor an individual player that made the most impact in helping the team, despite whether it resulted in a win or a loss.

We’ve dubbed it House of Houston Silver Booster Award

And this week’s Silver Booster Award goes to…

James Harden!

There’s nobody on the Rockets’ roster that has been as consistent as he has this week.

After a lackluster performance — by his standards — the week previous, he has really poured it on.

His total points scored per game this week — 45, 33 and 33.

He was on fire!

Cue up “Fireball” by Pitbull because that’s how good the Beard was!

Try this on for size — his stat line for the week — 37 PPG, 7.6 APG, 3.7 RPG, 3.0 SPG, 1.0 BPG while shooting 51.7 percent from the field, 52.6 percent from beyond-the-arc and 87.6 percent from the charity stripe.

Sizzling?

MVP-like? Oh yes!

He had to redeem himself against the Warriors after scoring just 12 points last Saturday.  He made sure that he wasn’t the reason why the Rockets lost the game this past Wednesday.

His finest moment was the buzzer-beater that he hit to win the game over the Suns this past Friday.  Although the Rockets were enjoying double-digit leads throughout a lot of the game, the Suns went on 12-4 run down the stretch in 4th quarter led by Marcus Morris.

After Morris tied the game at 111-all off a three-point play on an unnecessary Joey Dorsey foul, the ball was in the Beard’s hands with 16 seconds left.

In a isolation play, Harden dribbled right, then left, stepped back and sunk the best dagger I’ve seen in a long time!

He looked so cool doing it with his whole persona emanating confidence.

More from Houston Rockets

Harden had a week a Rockets’ fan could be proud of and for that he deserves the nomination.

It’s been a pleasure watching Beard’s magical season unfold.

The best part is that there is more in store!

We’ll have to see!

Go Rockets!
