Houston Texans Cut Nine From Roster; Four More Expected By Tuesday

The Houston Texans have released nine players, cutting their roster to 79.

The Houston Texans need to cut four more players before Tuesday’s deadline. They need to trim their roster to 53 by Saturday.

Both Lawrence Sidbury and William Powell were signed over training camp. Powell was the 5th running back on the roster, following the signing of Ronnie Brown. Sidbury was buried behind Whitney Mercilus, Quentin Groves, and others at the OLB spot. Quessenberry was diagnosed with lymphoma earlier this offseason.

Expect the next few cuts to be made later today or early tomorrow.
