Forbes: Houston Texans 12th Most Valuable Franchise In The World

The Houston Texans are the 12th most valuable franchise in the world according to Forbes.

The Texans are valued at $1.45 billion, just ahead of the New York Knicks ($1.4 billion) and behind the Boston Red Sox ($1.5 billion).

The top three most valuable franchises in the world are all soccer teams. Real Madrid is the most valuable franchise in the world, worth $3.44 billion according to Forbes. Barcelona at $3.2 billion and Manchester United at $2.81 billion round out the top three.

The Houston Texans are the 5th most valuable NFL franchise.  (Overall rank in parentheses)

1. (5) Dallas Cowboys – $2.3 billion

2. (8) New England Patriots – $1.8 billion

3. (9) Washington Redskins – $1.7 billion

4. (10) New York Giants – $1.55 billion

The New York Yankees (4) are MLB’s most valuable franchise valued at $2.5 billion. The Knicks (13) are the NBA’s most valued franchise. The Toronto Maple Leafs (27) are NHL’s most valuable franchise with an estimated value of $1.15 billion.

The Los Angeles Clippers did not make the top 50 most valuable franchises. They are expected to be bought for $2 billion, which would put them tied for 6th with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
