Joey Dorsey’s contract is reported to be a two-year, 2 million dollar deal.
Dorsey is a 6’9″, 270 pound center, who played for FC Barcelona in Spain last season . He was a starter on the team and they advanced all the way to the Euroleague Final Four.
A former second round pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Dorsey actually played two short stints on the Rockets in 2008 and in 2009. He has spent most of his career overseas, as he has played for teams in Greece, Turkey, and Spain.
After trading Omer Asik to the Pelicans, the Rockets had a hole to fill in the backup center department. Dorsey will look to fill that role this season.
The Rockets failed to make the big splash this summer. However, in the last few days they have begun to start filling positions on the roster. So far the Houston Rockets have signed Trevor Ariza, Troy Daniels, and Joey Dorsey.
Look for the Rockets to add a few more veterans before the summer is all said and done.
