Report: Houston Rockets Have Spoken With Ray Allen And Mike Miller

The Houston Rockets have spoken to both Mike Miller and Ray Allen in hopes of signing at least one of them to fill out their bench, according to Marc Stein (ESPN) and Jonathan Feigen (Houston Chronicle).

We spoke about the Rockets’ interest in Miller earlier today. Miller appears to be headed to the Denver Nuggets, but the Cavaliers, Rockets, and now Mavericks are making a run for him. Gary Parrish (CBS) believes the race is between the Nuggets and the Cavaliers.

Allen, 38, is considered a longshot to join the Rockets. He is reportedly considering joining LeBron James in Cleveland, or potentially retiring.

The sharpshooter shot 44.2 percent from three, but will be 39-years old later this month. If he doesn’t join James in Cleveland, he is expected to hang it up after 19 seasons in the NBA.

Both sharpshooters would be ideal fits with the Rockets. The Rockets re-signed Troy Daniels earlier today but are still in need of another shooter or two off the bench.
