Sources: Houston Rockets Will Not Match Chandler Parsons Offer

According to Yahoo Sports, Adrian Wojnarowski, Houston Rockets will not match the Dallas Mavericks’ offer sheet for Chandler Parsons.

The future of Chandler Parsons has been in question ever since the possibility of big name free agents, Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James could come to Houston.

It is being reported that Houston chose not to match the Dallas Mavericks’ offer for Chandler Parsons because it was too constraining on their future roster plans.

The Dallas Mavericks’ offer sheet had Parsons on a contract that would have him making $15 million a year.

The Rockets missed out on all of their first free agent choices. The Rockets have made several trades in order to free up salary cap space so they could sign Chris Bosh to a near max contract.

The original plan was to match the offer sheet for Parsons and sign Bosh, so that they would  have four players on the roster making max salaries, but after LeBron James’ decision, Bosh signed a contract to keep him with the Miami Heat.

After the Washington Wizards agreed to a sign and trade, Trevor Ariza will become the new starting small forward replacing Chandler Parsons.

Ariza averaged 14.4 ppg, 6.2 rpg and 2.5 apg. He is coming off of a spectacular season with the Washington Wizards.
