The Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks are not working on a sign and trade deal that would send Chandler Parsons to the Mavericks, according to Marc Stein (ESPN). Stein originally believed the Rockets and Mavericks may be able to pull it off, but it appears the Mavericks decided against it.

The Rockets and Mavericks were reportedly looking at potential S&T deals on Friday, but they stopped once the Rockets believed they were getting Chris Bosh. If they had Bosh, the Rockets were expected to match the offer sheet Parsons signed with the Mavericks.

Now that the Rockets have said they aren’t matching the Parsons offer sheet, the Rockets were looking to recoup any value possible.

With the already long history of hatred between the two front offices, the Mavericks wouldn’t budge into giving Houston any sort of value.

This was the expected result and an unfortunate huge swing and a miss by GM Daryl Morey.

We’ll see how the Rockets front office bounces back this offseason.
