According to Adrian Wojnarowski (Yahoo! Sports), the Houston Rockets are finalizing a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers to acquire Jeremy Lin from Houston.

The Los Angeles Lakers will most likely miss out on the big fish of Carmelo Anthony, which leaves the Lakers to seek out a Plan B. It’s known that the Rockets have been trying to move Jeremy Lin in order to sign Chris Bosh to a max contract. The Lakers can take on Jeremy Lin’s contract since the have ample salary cap room.

The Lakers are looking to build for the future so they will most likely ask the Rockets to give them future draft picks as well as Jeremy Lin.

Lin’s expiring contract will not hurt the Lakers 2015 cap space, as the Lakers will most likely allow Lin to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

There was speculation that the Lakers were interested in Lin at the February trade deadline but ultimately they decided against Lin’s contract because they wanted to have salary cap flexibility for this free agency period.

This is the biggest indication that the Rockets are close to brining Bosh to Houston. The Rockets have been adamant that they wouldn’t deal Lin unless they have a commitment from a star, and, well, Lin is now headed to Los Angeles.

Since the LeBron James decision, the Rockets have many moves to make and this looks like the first of them.
