Report: Houston Rockets Spoke To Agents Of Trevor Ariza And Paul Pierce

The Houston Rockets have reportedly spoken to the agents of Trevor Ariza, Paul Pierce, and Luol Deng, according to Adrian Wojnarwoski (Yahoo! Sports).

Sam Amick previously reported the Rockets talking to Deng earlier.

This is simply Rockets GM Daryl Morey covering his bases.

The only way the Rockets end up with any of these free agents is if they strike out on LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Bosh, and by doing so, they also strike out on Chandler Parsons.

It’s an unlikely scenario right now, but it could happen if all three (James/Anthony/Bosh) are still free agents by the end of the weekend.

Pierce is the only one of the three that could potentially come to Houston as a bench player. However, he is reportedly still looking for close to $8-10 million, a number the Rockets can’t much, but they could potentially offer him the MLE if he is willing to lower his price to play for a contender.
